►Conference Theme: First Things First: Pursuing excellence in international education
The pursuit of excellence begins with Christian reflection on the foundational questions of what is good, just, and beautiful—in God’s eyes. But the pursuit of excellence requires a continuing commitment to increased effectiveness in attaining our school goals. Come to ICEC!
Rejecting complacency, we seek to produce students who will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and Christian commitments to be transforming agents for the good of society and the glory of God. Join us as we explore the complex issues of international education from a faith perspective.
Throughout Asia, internationals are responding positively to the increased demands and expectations of their multi-national communities. International Christian schools face the complex challenges of defining and pursuing excellence in multiple spheres: academic programs that are both demanding and inclusive, language fluency, engaging and relevant strategies to foster discernment grounded in God’s truth, and the priority of developing a heart of responsiveness to the needs of their community and the world.
What sets ICEC apart from other conferences available for the international school community is the commitment of all presenters to look at educational issues from a Christian faith perspective. Our schools face the same educational challenges as other schools, but the benefit of learning from and engaging with others who share a common belief foundation cannot be overstated. Christian perspectives inform our understanding the nature of the learner, provide a purpose for learning beyond self seeking motives, and offer us a sure hope borne from the knowledge that He is risen.
A multinational collection of practitioners and experts from elementary and secondary schools and educational agencies, as well as scholars from Christian higher education will be offering a wide range of topics that will enrich your educational practice.
