Dear Parent,
The K.I.D. Time prayer calendar is available for you as a free download every month. You can print out a calendar to use every day to help your children develop a habit of prayer. Prayer is one of the most powerful tools available to Christians.
This year’s prayer theme is Unreached? Unacceptable! Each month, the K.I.D. Time calendar will focus on a different unreached people group. You and your children will learn facts about those people such as where they live, what they do, and why they remain unreached. As you learn about those people, you will appreciate their uniquenesses and will develop an understanding of how much God loves them and desires them to be members of His family. You will also learn about what hinders that people group from embracing the gospel and what can be done to help reach those people.
In light of all the technological advances in communication around the world, you may wonder how a group of people can remain unreached by the gospel. An unreached people group is defined by joshuaproject.net as a group in which fewer than 5 percent of the population are Christians. In other words, though some of these groups have access to current communication technology, they are called unreached because the gospel has had a limited impact on their culture. About 41 percent of the world’s people are unreached; they don’t know Jesus Christ as their Savior. Does that break your heart? It breaks God’s heart! This year, you and your children can become passionate about praying for the spiritually lost who have little opportunity to hear about Jesus. May you and your children become determined that these unreached people will not remain unreached!
In addition to the prayer calendar, K.I.D. Time provides free resources to help your children embrace a people group and develop a desire to see those people call upon the name of the Lord and be saved (Romans 10:13). You can download information about fun ideas, crafts, and learning activities that have been organized in three age groupings: early education (preschool), elementary, and middle school/high school.
As you and your children pray this year, try to picture people from every language and culture worshipping around God’s throne in heaven (Revelation 7:9). That verse helps explain why praying for unreached people is so important! Download the K.I.D. Time resources each month this year, and let’s make an impact on our world!
