ACSI identifies and analyzes a broad array of national, legal, and legislative issues through its Washington, D.C. office. Dr. John Holmes, Director for Government Affairs, monitors issues of national concern. He also produces National Notes, which is current information on pending congressional legislation, education reform, religious freedom, trends, and higher education. National Notes is emailed monthly to member schools. Members are urged to be proactive on legislative fronts that affect the Christian school movement and religious liberty, both nationally and internationally.

In Colorado Springs, Dr. Tom Cathey, ACSI’s Director for Legal/Legislative Issues, tracks legislation for all fifty states. Reports are generated for each state and are available under Legislative Tracking. He produces the Legal Legislative Update, which is mailed to member schools three times annually. Dr. Cathey also is available to answer questions from schools by phone or email.

The website also contains a number of reference articles dealing with Board Governance, Employment issues, Financial and IRS issues, Government Programs and Funding, Parent Issues, Student Discipline, Crisis Issues, and Health Issues. This is a member only area. Be sure and log in with your school user name and password.
