Last Updated Mar 30, 2011

2011 Forum for Christian Teacher Educators

"The Forum is a great couple of days to learn, relax, and perhaps most importantly to gather together with other Teacher Education Program folks at other Christian institutions."

Dr. James Drexler

Forum Purpose

The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) serves the evangelical Christian community of early education, elementary, and secondary schools and post-secondary institutions to enable Christian educators and schools worldwide to effectively prepare students for life.

Every other year, ACSI sponsors a forum for teacher educators from the post-secondary ranks that focuses on worldview issues affecting teaching and learning, best practices, networking, and other relevant professional topics.

Please join us for the 2011 Forum for Christian Teacher Educators—May 26–28, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The cost for the conference is $150 and will be held in the grand Crowne Plaza hotel at $98 a night for our participants. Proposal papers to be presented at the forum can now be submitted to the of Academic Services. Please submit a brief synopsis (no more than 100 words) of your proposal no later than March 1st.

The theme of this year’s forum is:
“What Role Does Christian Higher Education Play In The Changing Landscape Of Education?”

  1. Teaching in a Culturally Diverse Society
  2. Online Learning and the Virtual Learning Environment
  3. Retention, Progression, Transition—How do we keep good teachers from leaving the profession?
  4. Technology—Its Changing Role in Education
  5. Current Trends in Curriculum Development
  6. Building Bridges Between Theory and Practice

Read what some of our Forum attendees had to say:

“Kudos to ACSI! The Forum has become one of the outstanding opportunities every other year to interact with, and exchange ideas with sister institution dean's of education. The kinship and the target—Christian education at all levels—is one of the most important issues of this decade. The exchange of ideas and the encouragement from others have led to better service to students who are preparing to teach worldwide. I highly recommend the forum. The papers and the panels and other informal input is well worth the time, effort, and money!”

Dr. Marti MacCullough, Philadelphia Biblical University

“The Higher Education Forum was personally and professionally rewarding and refreshing. Having the opportunity to interact with colleagues and to participate in the scholarly presentations and discussions made this a very worthwhile professional development endeavor.”

Dr. Jim Watson, Columbia International University
