ACSI invites you to join the International Christian Educator Conference at
Rift Valley Academy in Kijabe, Kenya, April 1–4, 2010. This four-day conference provides a focused time of professional development, networking, and fellowship for international school educators in Europe and Africa.
Join us to be challenged and inspired by keynote speakers Dr. Wess Stafford, President of Compassion International, and Dr. Brian Simmons, President of ACSI. ICEC Africa also provides opportunities to participate in in-depth super seminars, workshops, and job alike sessions.

Registration for ICEC Africa is now open! Conference delegates should use the online registration tool or submit the paper registration by fax, email, or standard mail. Online registration requires payment by credit card at the time of registration. Schools and individuals wishing to pay by check or wire transfer should use the paper registration form. If you are a school wishing to register your entire staff, feel free to use the School Registration Sheet. No provisions are made for children at ICEC.

If you require a letter of invitation to enter Kenya, please indicate this need on the registration form. You must then submit the Letter of Invitation Request Form. Submission of this form does not in any way guarantee that you will be approved for a Letter of Invitation. Housing and Meals
All delegates will be housed at Rift Valley Academy. Room and board fees will be collected by Rift Valley Academy in advance or during onsite Conference Registration. Rift Valley Academy accepts USD or Kenyan currency, or checks drawn on U.S. banks. Unfortunately, they are unable to process credit cards.

Transportation
Transportation to/from Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) and RVA will be arranged through Rosslyn Academy in Nairobi, Kenya. Please email completed Transportation Request Forms to Don McGavran by February 23, 2010. (Subject: ICEC 2010 Transportation).
If your flight arrives in Nairobi in the evening, you must stay in a guesthouse in Nairobi for the night. Rosslyn Academy will then transport you to Rift Valley Academy in the morning for security reasons. More information about guesthouse options in Nairobi will be made available soon.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
Contact the Conference Coordinator to make conference cancellations.
Registration Refund Schedule:
- Before January 27, 2010: Registration fee minus $10 processing fee and one night of housing
- January 27–February 27, 2010: Registration fee minus $25 processing fee and one night of housing
- February 28–March 20, 2010: Registration fee minus $50 processing fee and one night of housing
- After March 20, 2010: 50% of registration fee is refundable minus one night of housing
HOUSING CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY:
Cancellations or changes must be received at the ICEC Africa Housing Office by February 23, 2010. One night of housing will be kept as a deposit and is non-refundable.

Present at ICEC Africa 2010
Would you like to present at ICEC? Take advantage of this opportunity to share your expertise with other international educators at ICEC Africa by submitting a workshop proposal. ACSI is accepting workshop proposal forms through November 15, 2009. Download and complete the 2010 ICEC Europe and Africa Presentation Proposal Packet. Each person submitting a workshop proposal will be notified of their status in late 2009.

Graduate Credit and Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
Earn Graduate Credit for Attending ICEC 2010
- Earn up to three graduate credits from Seattle Pacific University for pre-conference and general conference attendance. Cost is only $70/credit!
- Earn up to one graduate credit from Philadelphia Biblical University by attending "Multiple Intelligences" during the pre-conference. Cost is only $50/credit!
- Earn graduate credits from Spring Arbor University by attending "Professional Learning Communities at Work" and other Spring Arbor workshops throughout the conference. More details to follow.
Earn Two CEUs for Attending ICEC 2010
- ACSI provides each conference delegate with two CEUs for attending ICEC 2010.
- Two ACSI CEU certificates will be in each conference booklet.
- ACSI CEUs can be used toward renewing ACSI Teacher Certification.

Information for Speakers
Thank you for speaking at ICEC Africa. Your presence will be a privilege and a blessing to delegates, and we trust that you will also be blessed while sharing helpful and inspiring information with the Christian teachers, administrators, and support staff that serve at our international Christian schools in Africa.
Q: When should I schedule my flight for ICEC Africa?
A: ICEC Africa Pre-conference courses begin the morning of Thursday, April 1. The conference program begins at 6:45 p.m. Saturday night. All pre-conference speakers should arrive on Wednesday, March 31 in order to teach on Thursday morning. Other speakers can arrive on Wednesday or Thursday to meet their obligations.
Q: Can family members join me on this trip?
A: Yes. However, ACSI cannot cover their expenses. You are responsible to pay for all housing, meal and transportation costs for additional family members. Please advise the Conference Coordinator of any family members joining you so that the appropriate housing reservations are made.
Q: What should I pack?
A: Business/Professional attire for the conference

LCD projector (if you have your own)
A coverter plug for use with Kenyan sockets
Q: Will I need to bring my own handouts?
A: Handouts must be submitted to the Conference Coordinator prior to the start of the conference. A deadline of January 15, 2010 has been established for all super seminar and workshop presenters. A deadline will be issued personally to keynote speakers as their handouts will be included in the conference program. All handouts will be posted on the ACSI website.
Workshop presenters are responsible to bring sufficient hard copies for their workshops. Printing handouts at the conference is not available.

Details for Participants
Kenyan Visas
Visas are required for citizens of many countries wishing to enter Kenya, including citizens of the United States. Visas may be purchased in the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi, Kenya for $50 USD, or you may purchase your visa in advance. If you plan to purchase your visa in the airport, please plan to have $50 USD in cash. United States citizens should check the Kenyan Embassy websitefor updates and details prior to departure. Delegates are responsible to obtain their own visas for ICEC 2010.
Sight-seeing in and around Kijabe
Although there are no organized tours for ICEC 2010, there are things to see and do during your free time in Kijabe. Here is a good website to check out regarding sightseeing in Kijabe and surrounding areas:

Children at ICEC
We understand that some delegates may need to bring their children to ICEC. No provisions will be made for children during the conference.
If your child attends the conference, you are responsible to make arrangements for their care and are responsible for all costs associated with housing and meals. They may not attend general sessions or workshops.
Internet Access at Rift Valley Academy
There are two computer labs availabe at RVA for delegate use. There is a flat fee for those wishing to access the internet, which will be available at a later time. Wireless internet is not available.
Electricity in Kenya
Please keep in mind that Kenya uses 240 volts/50 cycles. Rift Valley Academy has outlets in classrooms and offices, but not in the dorms. Participants are responsible to plan accordingly.
