What is the ACSI Math Olympics-Area?

Purpose: Math Olympics—Area provides an opportunity to stimulate interest and recognize the achievements of students in mathematics in grades 3–8. Students are given a series of timed tests in either computation or reasoning. Students travel to the host location providing a chance to meet and fellowship with other students who have an interest in mathematics.

In the South-Central region, the Math by Mail event, also called Math Olympics—District, is the qualifying event for the Math Olympics—Area event. Qualified students travel to the host location to participate in the Math Olympics—Area event.

Description: Categories are computation and reasoning. Each student may participate in only one category for their current grade level.

Grades: 3–8

How to Get Started?

ACSI Student Activities are open to member schools.

  • Complete the South-Central Student Activities Registration form.
  • Passwords for resources are emailed to school coordinators. The handbooks are available to download on the Math Olympics-Area home page to help schools coordinate the event at their own school and to prepare for/attend the district-level event.
  • The Student Participation form and the student participation fees are due at the host school no later than 30 days before the event.
