ACSI ConNEXUS Premium

ConNEXUS Premium's new Administrator Dashboard provides the tools administrators need to manage and lead the professional learning of their school.  Use the dashboard to view faculty progress in continuing education activities, assign ConNEXUS Premium courses to be viewed by individual faculty members or the entire faculty, award CEUs earned by your faculty for viewing ConNEXUS Premium courses as a group and use reports to quickly access information on the continuing education progress for your school faculty. 

We know administrators are busy.  So we've also made it possible for administrators to identify leaders in their school to help them carry out these tasks in ConNEXUS Premium; we call them "Coaches" - and no, we aren't referring to football!  In your school roster you can identify faculty leaders as Coaches - these could be lead teachers, department heads, master teachers, teacher trainers - you decide who the Coaches in your school are.  Once someone is identified as a coach, faculty members can identify a Coach in their VPP and the Coach can now carry out all of the administrative tasks for any faculty members identified with them.

Determine your role - Are you a Coach or Administrator? Once you know your role you'll know which steps to follow to maximize the tools in ConNEXUS Premium's Administrator Dashboard!

Log In to ConNEXUS Premium - For each of these tasks, you'll first need to log into ConNEXUS Premium at my.acsi.org.  Hover on the CEUs/Premium tab, and then select either My VPP or ConNEXUS Premium from the drop down menu.

Now select the task you wish to complete and view the instructions.

Access School Administrator Reports from the "Reports" menu under the School Admin tab. 

Access Coach Reports from the "Reports" menu under the Coach tab.  

Subscribe your faculty and coaches to ConNEXUS Premium to take full advantage of Administrator Dashboard tools.


View a faculty member's VPP and monitor the progress of their continuing education activity

Here's how.... 

For a school administrator: From "My VPP" select the School Admin Tab 

You will now see a list of your faculty members. Click the "View" button to view a faculty member's VPP and observe their earned and in-progress CEUs. 

From your faculty member's VPP you may also generate reports of their progress filtering by dates and CEU type.   

For a coach: From "My VPP" select the Coach Tab:  

You will now see a list of the faculty members assigned to you.   Click the "View" button to view a faculty member's VPP and observe their earned and in-progress CEUs.   

From your faculty member's VPP you may also generate reports of their progress filtering by dates and CEU type. 

 


Assign a course to an individual faculty member

Here's how....   

For School Administrators: From "My VPP" select the School Admin Tab

For Coaches: From "My VPP" select the Coach Tab:    

You will now see a list of your faculty members.  Click the "View" button to view a faculty member's VPP and observe their earned and in-progress CEUs.

    

From your faculty member's VPP, click on the blue "ConNEXUS Premium Courses" button to navigate to ConNEXUS Premium.  

Select a course from ConNEXUS Premium and click the green "Watch/Assign" button.             

From the course assignment screen, you can select to add a learning objective for this assignment (see learning objectives instructions), add a due date for when the course must be completed, select to be notified by email when the course is completed and leave comments for the faculty member if you so choose.

 

Click the "Save to VPP" button to add this course to the faculty members' VPP.  Click the "Back to My VPP" link in the upper right hand corner of the page. 

You will find the course added to the bottom of their Continuing Education section of the faculty member's VPP.   If a learning objective was assigned to the course it will also be found in the Learning Objective section of the faculty member's VPP.   


Assign a course (or courses) to more than one - or all - faculty members

Here's how....

For Administrators: From the School Admin Tab, click the link to go to your Coach VPP. This VPP allows you to design an assignment with learning objectives and courses, or just assign courses to your faculty members.   

For Coaches: From the coach tab, click the link to go to your Coach VPP.  This VPP allows you to design an assignment with learning objectives and courses, or just assign courses to your faculty members.       

Now you will need to add courses: Click on the blue "ConNEXUS Premium Courses" button to navigate to ConNEXUS Premium.

Select a course from ConNEXUS Premium and click the green "Watch/Assign" button.                      

From the course assignment screen, select to add a learning objective for this assignment (see learning objectives), add a due date for when the course must be completed, select to be notified by email when the course is completed and leave comments for the faculty member if you so choose.

  

Click the "Save to VPP" button.

You may continue to assign more courses or return to your Coach Assignment VPP to make the assignment. 

To return to your Coach Assignment VPP, click on the "Back to My VPP" link in the top right-hand corner.  

Now that you have identified courses in your Coach Assignment VPP, you will see them listed in the Continuing Education section of the VPP.  If a learning objective was assigned to the course it will also be listed in the Learning Objective section of the faculty member's VPP.         

At the bottom of the Coach Assignment VPP, click the "Assign Courses" button to assign these courses to your faculty.                                 

The "Assign Courses" box will appear and you can select one, a few, or all of your faculty members to receive this assignment by checking the box next to their name.  Be sure to also check the box to send an email to each of your faculty members receiving the assignment.  When you are ready, click the "Assign" button.                   

You will receive a confirmation for the courses assigned to each faculty member.  If a course was already added to an individual's VPP you will receive a message as indicated below.  If you would like to assign a due date to the course you will need to go into the individual's VPP, find the course and update the due date.  


Award CEU's for ConNEXUS Premium courses viewed together as a faculty

*Please note that only those faculty members subscribed to ConNEXUS Premium are eligible to receive CEU credit for ConNEXUS Premium courses earned as a group.    

Here's how....

For Administrators: From the School Admin Tab, click the link to go to your Coach VPP.

This VPP allows you to identify the courses you viewed together as a faculty and then assign the CEUs for those courses to your faculty members. 

 

For Coaches: From the coach tab, click the link to go to your Coach VPP.  This VPP allows you to identify the courses you viewed together as a faculty and then assign the CEUs for those courses to your faculty members.             

Now you will need to add courses: Click on the blue "ConNEXUS Premium Courses" button to navigate to ConNEXUS Premium. Select a course from ConNEXUS Premium and click the green "Watch/Assign" button.                    

From the Course assignment screen, change the "Group Viewing" drop down to "Yes" and click the "Group Viewing" button.

A Group Viewing box will open, in this box enter the date the CEU was earned, you may also identify a learning objective for the CEU (optional).  Now click the green "Record Course" button. 

Click the "Back to My VPP" button to return to the Coach Assignment VPP.   

Notice that the course appears on the VPP with a green "CEU Earned" icon next to it.   

Now click the blue "Assign Courses" button at the bottom of the VPP to award the CEU to your faculty members. 

Identify the faculty members to whom you wish to award the CEU and click the orange "Assign" button.   

You will receive a confirmation of the CEUs being awarded to each of your faculty members!    

 


Assign Learning Objectives and identify courses to meet the objectives


Here's how....

For Coaches: From the coach tab, click the link to go to your Coach VPP.  This VPP allows you to design an assignment with learning objectives and courses, or just assign courses to your faculty members.                   

Now you will need to add a Learning Objective: Click the blue "Add Learning Objective" button. 

Now select from a standard list of learning objectives or create a custom learning objective. 

Or you can create a custom learning objective...

Now you will need to identify courses that will meet this new learning objective.  Select a course (or courses) from ConNEXUS Premium and click the green "Watch/Assign" button.  

From the course assignment screen, add a due date for when the course must be completed, select to be notified by email when the course is completed and leave comments for the faculty member if you so choose. Click the "Save to VPP" button.           

You may continue to assign more courses or return to your Coach Assignment VPP to make the assignment.  To return to your Coach Assignment VPP, click on the "Back to My VPP" link in the top right-hand corner. 

When you return to your VPP, you will see the Learning Objectives and courses listed in your Coach Assignment VPP.  Notice that the courses are listed in the Continuing Education section as well as under the Learning Objectives section in the VPP.  Don't worry - you are not actually assigning them twice! 

At the bottom of the Coach Assignment VPP, click the "Assign Courses" button to assign these courses to your faculty.                                   

The "Assign Courses" box will appear and you can select one, a few, or all of your faculty members to receive this assignment by checking the box next to their name.  Be sure to also check the box to send an email to each of your faculty members receiving the assignment.  When you are ready, click the "Assign" button.
