Dec 2018 RM Snapshot

Rocky Mountain, December 2018

Next Year's Leadership OfferingsI would like to open this winter note with a focus on Failure. It is the single mechanism in which we actually can learn the most, gain the most insight, and, on occasion, become absolutely discouraged and disappointed. But there is hope. Here is an article on the three major stages of failure ... AND, how to fix them. So, while we know that perseverance and grit are essential to long term success, it is the failures that can help move us forward the most, if only we can learn from them. Enjoy!

Now that you are shifting into the end of the semester mode and preparing to navigate your school calendar full of exams, parties, celebrations and holidays, don't forget to make sure you have next year's leadership PD on your personal and school calendar. They are coming up in January and February; and are geared to meet the needs of every level of school leadership. Here is what you need to know...Global Christian School Leadership Summit - end of January ... For all those leaders who need to expand their vision, see into the future and network with school leaders from around the world, you need to look into the GCSLS - the Global Christian School Leaders Summit in San Antonio, Tx., January 30-Feb 2, 2019. You are invited to join ACSI and 7 other Christian associations for this foremost gathering of school leaders worldwide. The theme for 2019 is "Innovate" and includes over 60 internationally known speakers and presenters.  Find a quick overview of the event here ...RM Admin Conference - mid February... Later in February (Feb 10-12, 2019) is the Rocky Mountain Regional Leaders Conference in Prescott, AZ  for administrators, board members and EE program directors. All three of the tracks this year will focus on School Sustainability - how to cultivate it, maintain it, and manage it. Each track will provide a seasoned speaker addressing the practicalities of sustainability in schools and preschools. Plus, you will connect with leaders from around the region, engage in multiple round table discussions, and leave with practical tools for your setting. The spring is also filled with monthly webinars (part of your membership) with two tracks focused on school leadership development, a crop of administrator meetings and lunches around the region, early education conferences, and a full calendar of additional opportunities to enrich you, your staff, and your students. Plus, spring time is prime time to send your super teachers out on one of the many preschool and K-12 accreditation teams being fielded for school's renewing or initiating their school improvement process. It is a PD offering not to be missed.Check out the regional calendar for updates. With great hope and expectation,Jerry
