FROM YOUR REGIONAL DIRECTOR
We always need to be seeking the Lord first and foremost for His agenda (Matt. 6:33) and His priorities for our lives and our schools (Proverbs 16:9). But this thought-provoking article challenges the traditional ways in which we tend to think about goal-setting: "If You Prioritize Your 2018 Goals This Way, You'll Reach Every Single One of Them!"
As I have done each January since joining ACSI, I want to challenge you once again: instead of resolutions, why not get ONE WORD for 2018?? But be careful; it just might change you.
Over the past several years my wife, Shelley, and I have resisted the tendency to make resolutions and instead have chosen to prayerfully seek the Lord for ONE WORD that would capture and drive our focus for the coming year. We have found that focusing on just ONE WORD for the entire year helps us simplify our lives. The simplicity of discovering a word that God has for you makes it a catalyst for life-change. Clutter and complexity lead to procrastination and paralysis, while simplicity and focus lead to success and clarity. This four-day devotional shows you how to cut through to the core of your intention for a one-word vision for the year. Give it a try!
May God bless and protect you and your school in 2018. And, as always, know that the SE region staff are ready and willing to serve you each step of the way.
Happy New Year,
Dr. David Balik
P.S. If you think of it, email me and let me know what your ONE WORD is for 2018, and I'll tell you mine.
