SE Snapshot

southeast, September 2018

According to Barna's Multiple Choice report (2017), what parents are looking for in a school, above all else, is safety. Before quality teachers, academic excellence and character development, they are looking for safety for their children.

A Christian world and life view tells us that this issue emcompasses much more than the current political climate and media would have us believe (i.e. gun control, etc.). We will explore this important topic at our fall District Meetings, where together we will answer the question: What does it mean to be "safe" in a Christian school?

We will closely examine SCHOOL SAFETY through these three lenses:

  • Physical Safety - what must a school provide (policies, procedures, facilities etc.) to ensure physical safety?

  • Emotional Safety - what does it mean for a student to be emotionally safe in a school setting?

  • Spiritual Safety - how can a Christian school provide an environment of spiritutal safety which allows students a safe environment to wrestle with their spiritual condition, belief, and faith? Is it safe to doubt here?

Whatever you do, DON'T MISS your fall District Meeting!

This is a rich time for you to network with Christian school leaders i your city and state, and build collaborative relationships that are sure to be an encouragement. Once again this year, the district meetings will be chock-full of relevant information, great discussion, and wonderful fellowship. There is no cost to attend this gathering, we only ask that you RSVP so the host can plan for lunch accordingly.

We hope you will come and bring some or all of your administrative team!! Looking forward to seeing you there!
