Keynote Information
Karen Hills is an Educator and Educational Mentor with 25 years of experience working with students from K to 12. She is passionate about helping others develop a Christian worldview. Karen and her husband, Phil, have four children.
Philip Hills is the Executive Regional Director of ACSIWC. He is also working with other ACSI global leaders to strengthen relationships between Christian educators the world over. Phil could not fulfill his mandate without the extraordinary, persistent support of his remarkable wife, Karen!

The Centrality of Jesus Christ in Education—Discovering and applying a Christological focus in curriculum development and implementation
Some people think that the only difference between a Christian and a secular school is that the Christian schools have time during the day to teach Bible and they host regular chapels. Bible references might also crop up in other classes, but overall the goals and methods of each school are similar. This might be true of some Christian schools but it is not true of the schools that aspire to be authentically Christ-centered. This professional day is about introducing the fundamental elements of Christian schooling to Christian school teachers and administrators. A Christian educational worldview will be presented and then applied in classroom planning and implementation. Teachers will be given an opportunity to apply these principles in units that they will be teaching in their classrooms. Resources will be made available to enable teachers to get excellent support in Christian education and to continue to grow throughout their careers.
