Graduate Administration Approval Program
We are excited to announce that Philadelphia Biblical University has become our first institution to go through this new process and receive approval for their graduate administrator program. Liberty University will be the next program to go through the process this fall. A number of other quality institutions are also planning to go through this approval program in the future.
This approval program is designed for Christian college and university graduate study programs for administrators. Individuals who graduate from an ACSI approved program would be eligible to receive their first ACSI professional administrator’s certificate free of charge.
Graduate Teacher Approval Program
Individuals graduating from this type of approved program are eligible to receive their first ACSI professional teacher certificate free of charge.
Teacher Education Department Approval Program
Our current ACSI Christian College/University Teacher Education Department Approval program is based on the recognition of the integral role of Christian colleges and universities in training educators for Christian schools by partnering with them for the accomplishment of our common vision at the undergraduate level.
This program involves a formal self-study and evaluation process designed to assist teacher education departments in developing and maintaining that distinctive level of training. While not a form of accreditation, this program of approval among other things, means that graduating seniors are eligible to receive their first ACSI standard teacher’s certificate at no cost. Currently there are over 20 institutions in this program.
Reflections on all ACSI Approval Programs
While the approval programs are geared toward assisting educators with their ACSI certification, it is also ACSI’s goal to be able to get the names of these approved programs and institutions, out to the public and especially our ACSI High Schools as tremendous options for seniors who are looking for college and university options.
Successful leadership in Christian education depends largely on the foundation that is gained through graduating from a highly effective institution of higher education. ACSI is focused on the quality of preparation for well-trained teachers and administrators with a thorough Christian world and life view that is essential for educators and leaders in Christian schools.
Because of this focus, ACSI has and is developing programs that are designed to assist and support Christian colleges and universities in the development of a distinctive level of education for teachers and administrators.
Graduates of approved programs would reflect a pervasive Christian testimony and would demonstrate an understanding of a Christian worldview, the philosophy of Christian education, the distinctives of Christian schooling, biblical integration of instruction, and academic and professional training.
We would encourage teachers or administrators who know of accredited Christian colleges or universities that would like to be a part of these exciting and valuable programs to contact ACSI for additional information. Being a part of these approval programs gives ACSI a base of Christian colleges and universities that we can recommend to teachers and administrators for future educational opportunities. Designating quality programs helps both the educator and the institution. We would love to visit with you or the colleges about the possibilities of partnering with their institution in either of these approval programs.
