Personnel–Section 4 Self-Study Resources
All personnel are Christians. They are competent and dedicated and are well qualified for their assigned responsibilities. They are committed to the written philosophy, mission, vision, and core values, and they engage in ongoing professional development that will assist in the process of continual growth in student learning and the educational course of the school/program. The administrative, instructional, and support staff are suffficient in number to provide for the effective delivery of quality education and are appropriately credentialed, degreed, trained, and qualified for their assigned duties.
Standard 4.2 Volunteer, Orientation, and Background Checks
The website and instructions below are a good resource for every school, as well as, international schools with national staff located in countries that do not require a background check. Questions on this site are helpful to use with national staff. They can also be used as a part of the school's staff orientation and volunteer protocols.
Go to the IMB website and select GO, then Volunteer, then Child Protection Process. All personnel, including people visiting on mission trips and all volunteers whether parents or not should watch the video that is linked to that site.
Next, at the very end of the page are two documents—one for interview questions in lieu of a background check, and one for collecting references on every volunteer whether background checks have been done or not.
It is to be emphasized that all Americans should have background checks done on them.

EE Personnel Forms
During the candidacy visit with the accreditation instrument the ACSI representative will discuss staff qualifications with the director of the program or school administrator. If a staff member does not meet the qualifications as stated in indicators 4.5a, 4.6a, and 4.6b, the ACSI representative will refer the director to Appendix T. Appendix T provides guidance on how the entirety of an individual’s experience, education, and expertise will be considered to when reviewing qualifications.
The ACSI representative will assist the director to interpret the education, experience, and expertise of a staff member and create a professional development plan that will move the staff member to meet the accreditation requirements within the time periods listed in Appendix T. If any team member does not have a combination of 100 points using the chart in Appendix T or does not meet the accreditation indicators as listed in 4.5a, 4.6a, and 4.6b, this plan must be completed and submitted for approval.
Progress on the Professional Development Commitment must be included in the annual report after accreditation is granted.
