Last Updated Mar 16, 2010

Need Help with Your Development Needs?

International School Development Services (ISDS) allows member international schools to participate in a variety of development services for their school. These services include:

  • Gift receipting and accounting of tax-deductible donations in the United States
  • Banking services (checking, savings, certificate accounts, VISA, and international ATM services)
  • Investment opportunities
  • Grant proposals

The Application Process

The services of International School Development Services (ISDS) are provided to member schools for the benefit of the school and not for private use. The administrator or development director is responsible to complete a form for each project that will utilize ISDS receipting services. ISDS is responsible to the United States government for responsible fund distribution in accordance with IRS regulations.

Approved projects include Annual Giving Programs, Capital Projects, and Scholarship Programs. Activities not approved for receipting include, but are not limited to school athletic trips, musical group trips, or mission projects. Projects are approved by the program administrator for International School Development Services.

The Project Funding Request form must be submitted to the program administrator and approved prior to school solicitation of donations. All projects must be approved by official minutes of the governing school board. The documentation listed below must be submitted with the project request application prior to approval.

  • Financial standards (ECFA) signed statement
  • Project Funding Request Application signed by chief administrator and chairman of the board
  • End of year financial statement reviewed or audited by an outside source
  • Copies of formal minutes outlining board approval for the project
  • Approved budget plan
  • Project Development Plan
  • Supporting documents such as a drawing or architectural plan are also helpful
