ACSI's Children at Risk Program
Helping Christian schools serve the poor, impact the community, and prepare their students for life.
Around the world, many children are denied access to a traditional, school-based education by poverty and other circumstances outside their control. Street children, child laborers, many orphans, and other vulnerable children cannot afford school fees or cannot take time away from their essential survival tasks to attend school during normal hours. The Association of Christian Schools International Children at Risk Program has established Open Schools Worldwide to develop materials and strategies to help these marginalized children receive free basic literacy, numeracy, and life-skills teaching at a suitable time and place.
