Middle School Leadership Conferences

This year's conference is based on the theme, “Leading from the Lockers.” Mr. Topher Stockton, our speaker, will address Problem Solving, Managing Priorities, and Building Relationships from a Biblical perspective. Students will enjoy continental breakfast and a time of praise and worship before experiencing our speaker sessions and engaging in mixed school discussion groups. Application exercises and leadership projects will make for an exciting day for any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student. In Leadership 301, schools will be asked to plan a project that will have legacy potential. The idea is to prepare the students, little by little, to embrace their leadership potential on a larger scale. In a sense, if a student attends these three conferences, they will “graduate” with a full picture of Christian leadership.
2011: Leadership 301, Overcoming Problems, Managing Priorities, Building Relationships

ACSI Southeast High School Leadership Conferences
For years, schools have counted on parents, churches, and school chapels to form faith in our students and have counted on that faith to transform the inner life of the believer and their outward actions. These efforts don’t seem to work well when George Barna’s statistics show that six out of ten twenty-somethings that were involved in a church during their teen years, have now fallen away from the faith completely. We now have, according to Dallas Willard, “multitudes of professing Christians who well may be ready to die, but obviously are not ready to live, and can hardly get along with themselves, much less with others”.
In 2011, we will tackle the topic of spiritual formation and how youths can train their entire personality to side with their new heart and follow the Holy Spirit in action. The pace of this conference will be slower and much more introspective as students are given instruction on how to allow the Holy Spirit to train their minds, souls, and bodies.
Tall order? You bet, but our two speakers work with high school students and college students every day to accomplish this. Our guys are convinced that when the students learn how to go deeper and they begin to “know” Christ rather than know “about” Christ, they will become excited about growing in their relationship with the Lord.
Other proud sponsors of the 2011 high school conferences include:
The Baptist College of Florida, Graceville, FL, Regent Univeristy, Virginia Beach, VA and Nyack College, NY

Speakers:

Brian Burchik currently serves as the High School Pastor at Grace Fellowship Church in Snellville, Georgia. He is passionate about empowering the next generation of students to love God deeply and make a difference on the earth. He and his lovely wife Erin love adoption, traveling, and cheap-but-fun date nights. Brian graduated in 2007 from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and then completed his Masters degree in Church Leadership at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2011.
After graduating from Clemson University in SC, Matt Reynolds became the College Pastor at Grace Fellowship Church (Snellville, GA) in 2007, where the ministry grew from 10 to more than 200 over the span of two years. Matt also wrote a relevant study through the book of Ephesians during this season of ministry, for college students and young adults. In 2009, Matt began to serve as the Pastor of Grace-Midtown, located in the heart of Atlanta, where explosive growth has occurred over the past 2 years among college students, young people and young families. He and his wife Margaret’s overall passion is “to bring the Kingdom to the City” in fresh and innovative ways.
