Student Artwork Submission Requirements
We invite you to submit student artwork for the ACSI calendar!
Each student who has a submission that is chosen to be included in the Annual Events Calendar will be given 10 copies of the published calendar. Winning entries will be included in a spread in the Exemplary Programs issue of CSE magazine with a biographical write-up about each student from either their art teacher or school principal.
►All entries from schools that are not located in a region that sponsors an ACSI Art Competition should be submitted to the regional office by May 14, 2010.
Schools participating in the ACSI Art Competition are subject to the submission dates established by the sponsoring region.
Ideally, submitted pieces should be photographed on a white background, free of any other items in the background. If another type of background is used, it should be free of any distracting pattern that would draw attention away from the artwork itself.
A completed release form (available below) and the following information must accompany each entry:
♦ Student’s name
♦ School name
♦ ACSI region
♦ Title of the piece
♦ Description of, and medium used, to create the piece
►Please note that entries cannot be used without a completed release form.
Entries should be submitted on a CD and if there are more than one entry on the CD, please submit an index of the images with the above mentioned information for each entry.
Schools located in areas where there is no sponsored ACSI Art Competition, please submit one entry per school to your ACSI Regional Office.
►Due to the number of entries we will receive, we will not be able to return any submitted images.
Final digital images should be 11” wide x 8.5” deep at 300 pixels per inch. An image this size would typically be around 30 MB, which is too large to email. Images should be burned to a disc. If images are smaller than 300 ppi, the image should be larger in dimension so that when it is resized, it will fit the requirements.
Please save images as .tiff or .jpg files with maximum quality selected if using compression software to reduce file size.
Any artwork that school administrators or faculty deem worthy of consideration should be submitted. Winners from an annual creative art festival or some other juried competition could make entry selections easier.
Artwork does not have to be limited to paintings or drawings. Other mediums to consider may include, but are not limited to the following: photography, etchings, sculptures, murals, weavings, quilts, pottery, and jewelry.
Please check with your ACSI Regional Office to see if a regional art competition is scheduled this year. If so, you must submit your artwork to the regional competition to be eligible for the Events Calendar. If there is no ACSI regional competition scheduled in your area, then you can submit one item per school for consideration to your regional office.
