Lake CenterHonoring 75 Years of Tradition—Congratulations to Lake Center Christian School

The first K-8 Lake Center Christian School (LCCS) classes started on Monday, September 15, 1947, with 183 students, in four classrooms on Woodmont Street in Hartville, OH. The day was a celebration of God's faithfulness to answer prayers for a local school dedicated to Christian education values in Lake Township. Elmer S. Yoder recorded in his book, Celebrating God's Faithfulness, that "Lake Center Christian School did not spring out of a vacuum. Lake Center 'sprouted' and grew in a fertile church community atmosphere and climate." In celebration of its 75th school year, Lake Center welcomed 750 students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade to 49 classrooms on its beautiful 50-acre campus on Kaufman Avenue in Hartville, Ohio.

The school exists to assist Christian families and their churches in equipping students for lifelong learning and service to Christ. Lake Center infuses a biblical worldview in all they do and are passionate about helping students seek God’s will in their lives. Serving others and developing a love for serving Christ are of equal importance to academic knowledge.

LCCS values diversity in ethnicity, economics, and learning styles. They nurture Christian character through Godly role models, chapels, and service opportunities. They are committed to academic excellence and preparing students for college and career with a comprehensive and challenging curriculum. Students at LCCS consistently score above the state average ACT Composite score with a 21.4 composite average score. Seventy-three percent of the students from the class of 2021 pursued a 4-year degree after graduation, with scholarship awards totaling $1,928,010.
