11/30/25 Update
From Eric, Director at Kyiv Christian Academy:
On Sat., Nov. 29, a drone landed inside the walled yard in front of KCA. At 5:53 am, an explosion rent the air. Doors and windows burst from their frames. Over 75 windows shattered.
- We are thankful that it was Saturday and that staff and students were not on their way to school.
- We are thankful that no one was injured.
- We are thankful that the roof is whole and the building is sound and that we are telling you about broken windows and NOT broken lives.
For us, the physical aspects are getting settled quickly. Our community, along with the other school that uses our campus, came together in a big effort to clean up debris and cover windows. We are in process of contracting window repairs and materials, but the timeframe is 2 to 4 weeks at best. My biggest gap now is that we don't have a school counselor. Please pray...Pray for our staff and students, who may no longer feel that KCA is the safe haven that it was before. Pray that God will continue to protect the lives of those being nurtured within the walls of KCA and that he will continue to protect the building.
- Over 100 people in the KCA community spent Saturday working to clean up the results of the destruction inside the school.
- Plastic must be put over the 75 destroyed windows to keep out the winter weather.
- Because there is so much destruction in Kyiv, materials are difficult to obtain and are expensive. Costs of replacing the windows are estimated to be as high as $100,000.
Government authorities must inspect the missile and crater before any clean up can take place outside.
