We asked ACSI Exemplary Accredited educators who serve in the school library what their favorite book is and what they love most about their role in Christian education.

Carol Reigner, Delaware County Christian School, PA: 


Favorite children's book: "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis.

“Being a multimedia and literacy specialist is a dream come true. I have a deep love of reading, and being able to share that with students and instill in them a joy for books is so much fun! The thing I love most about my position is connecting with the students, letting them know they are loved and seen, and pointing them to Jesus.”

 

Mary Kavanaugh, Calvary Christian Academy, FL:

Favorite children's book:  "The Crippled Lamb" by Max Lucado.

“I love fostering an appreciation/love for reading. I love pointing the kiddos to Jesus every chance I get. Besides teaching them library skills, the frosting on my job is reading great stories to them.”

Favorite children's books: "Teena and the Magic Pot" and "Pollyanna."

"My favorite thing about being a librarian in a Christian school is that I get to share great children’s books and tie them in with biblical lessons and truths. Jesus, good books, and children– is there anything better?"
