Around 500 Christian educators gathered in Harare, Zimbabwe for the annual ACSI Zimbabwe Conference from September 3-5. Hosted at Gateway Primary School since 2009, and under ACSI Zimbabwe’s leadership since 2018, the conference has become a significant recurrent gathering for encouragement, training, impartation and unity for educators across the region. Conference from September 3-5. Hosted at Gateway since 2009, and under ACSI Zimbabwe’s leadership since 2018, the conference has become a significant moment of encouragement, training, and unity for educators across the region.
This year’s conference was marked by two historic milestones:
- Delegates celebrated and prayerfully commissioned 22 graduates from the first cohort of the pilot Africa Teacher Certification Program in Biblical Worldview and Integration (BWVI). Dr. Sosthene Maletoungou, ACSI Africa Director felt privileged to award the certificates and commission those Christian educators for good work in the classroom. Delivered in partnership with Gateway Christian Teacher’s College, this pilot program is a milestone in ACSI vision of equipping 1 million African teachers for excellence in Christian education across Africa by 2050.
- ACSI Zimbabwe officially became the sixth Global Licensed Member on the African continent. This landmark is an affirmation to the growth of Christian education on the continent, strengthening the network of schools and educators united in the mission of Christ-centered teaching.
"The Spirit of God is powerfully moving across Africa, stirring hearts and uniting the Church, families, schools, and universities in a shared mission: to prepare the next generation through Christ-centered education," said Dr. Maletoungou. "Today, there are an estimated 90,000 Christian schools across the continent—a remarkable testimony to this growing movement."
With strong participation, transformative training, and moments of celebration, the 2025 ACSI Zimbabwe Conference once again demonstrated the power of Christian educators coming together to inspire, equip, and impact the next generation for good work.
