Christian schools around the world came together for ACSI’s 2026 Global Day of Prayer, intentionally seeking the Lord and reflecting on this year’s theme, “The Power of Prayer.”

ACSI received over 620 prayer submissions from 77 countries, including Brazil, Uganda, and Spain.

This year’s theme was inspired by James 5:16: “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” As Christians, we can stand firmly in faith, knowing that because of our relationship with the Lord, His power is within us.

When we come to Him in submission, we also come with confidence, knowing that He hears and responds. Prayer is not just words; it is the petition of God’s people before a holy and good God.

ACSI staff gathered for two dedicated prayer meetings throughout the day, lifting up schools around the world. They prayed specifically for each school’s needs, asking the Lord to strengthen and equip educators, students, and leaders to continue faithfully carrying out their mission in Christ-centered education.

The Prayer Map is a visual  aspect of the ACSI Day of Prayer, showing the volume of participating Christian schools across the globe. This year, over 6,000 affirmations were recorded, reflecting how many people engaged with the Prayer Map.

From classrooms to campuses worldwide, students and faculty came together, engaging in meaningful activities such as going on prayer walks, worshiping together, and participating in prayer stations. Together, these expressions demonstrated the power of prayer and a shared commitment to always turn towards the Lord.

ACSI’s Director of Spiritual Formation, Lainie Montgomery, shared what she enjoys most about Day of Prayer.

“One of my favorite things about this event is the unity, as our entire ACSI community around the world comes together at the same time to pray, worship, and testify to the goodness of God,” she said. “There’s nothing more encouraging than seeing generations united in prayer, surrendered to the One who has all power and authority, who is able to do more than we can ask or imagine.”
