Association of Christian Schools International holds an annual Day of Prayer, where Christian schools, educators, students, and communities around the world come together to intentionally focus on unified prayer for Christian education. Last year’s ACSI Day of Prayer theme was “Abide,” based on John 15:4-5, reminding us that apart from Jesus, we can do nothing. Schools all over the world united to pray for each other, pray for other schools, pray for students, and pray for continued advocacy and expanded access of Kingdom education.
Over 640 prayer requests were submitted from over 60 countries, including Nigeria, Guatemala, Hungary, Brazil, and others. Schools across the world celebrated by hosting school-wide chapels, Day of Prayer tent stations, art and music projects, and in many other creative ways.
This year’s theme is “The Power of Prayer” from James 5:16: “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” Because of our relationship with the Lord, His power is within us. When we come to Him in submission, we also come with confidence, knowing He hears and responds. Prayer is not just words, it is the petition of God’s people before a holy and good God.
ACSI’s Director of Spiritual Formation Lainie Montgomery shares what she is most looking forward to for this year’s Day of Prayer.
“One of my favorite things about this event is the unity, as our entire ACSI community around the world comes together at the same time to pray, worship, and testify to the goodness of God,” she said. “There’s nothing more encouraging than seeing generations united in prayer, surrendered to the One who has all power and authority, who is able to do more than we can ask or imagine.”
The Prayer Map is a powerful aspect of the ACSI Day of Prayer, where schools worldwide share their prayer requests, creating a sense of global unity as participants lift each other up in prayer, highlighting the collective strength and shared purpose of the Christian education community.
“More than anything, I look forward to the power of His presence, the way God meets us when we gather, whether online or in classrooms, auditoriums, or chapels,” said Montgomery. “I love seeing schools participate in their own unique ways, and I’m always deeply moved by what the Lord is doing in each one. There’s nothing more encouraging than seeing generations united in prayer—surrendered to the One who has all power and authority, who is able to do more than we can ask or imagine. To Him be the glory forever.”
We invite you and your school community to join us for ACSI’s 2026 Day of Prayer on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, for a global opportunity to stand together in faith and lift up our schools, students, and nations in prayer. Let’s unite as one body, believing that through prayer, lives will be changed, communities strengthened, and God’s glory revealed.
